Fall Diffuser Blends for Your Health
All of the holiday scents are everywhere this time of year! The pumpkin spices and gingerbread cookie candles are meant to make you feel so good preparing for the holiday season but do you notice you get a headache shortly after inhaling the delicious scents?
Even the cinnamon buns at the grocery store smell good from a distance, but I know they aren’t real scents when I start to get a pain right in the middle of my forehead.
Your body knows the difference between real plant aroma and scents that are man-made in a lab. Did you know you can get the same holiday and festive scents from aromatic plant molecules that are real and benefiting your body in multiple ways - from emotionally to internally - instead of the fake scents that don’t provide lasting benefits, just a headache in the aftermath?
Essential oils to the rescue!
Put a few drops of oil in diffusers around the house and you can combine oils to make your own amazing fall blends. These will smell just as good as the store-bought candles but are also providing benefits to the air quality in your home!
The cinnamon, cassia and clove blend boost your immune system.
Ginger and ylang ylang smell so good together and balance your mood and hormones.
Wild orange uplifts your mood EVERY SINGLE TIME!
Frankincense and sandalwood are powerhouse oils for cellular function
Look at all the good you can do for your health by making a small switch and using essential oils as your fall scent go-to instead of putting chemicals in your system.
PRO TIP: Start your diffuser first thing in the morning and pick a yummy blend to run after dinner. The kids love to help make concoctions for the family to benefit from.
USE THESE FALL DIFFUSER BLENDS IN YOUR HOME THIS HOLIDAY SEASON:
Word to the wise, before you go pick up these scents from your local grocery store, please know that essential oils are NOT created equally. Did you know that 80% of “essential oils” are adulterated or synthetic? When using oils that are not pure, you’re defeating the entire purpose of bypassing fall candles and going right for an essential oil blend.
I always recommend using dōTERRA essential oils so you know, with confidence, that the oils you are using have a positive benefit to your family’s health. Many little brown bottles claiming to be essential oils are just as synthetic as the candles and plug ins you typically find in the grocery store.
You have to know the sourcing and purity and potency of the oils you choose to use. That is why I will only use dōTERRA. Their promise to purity exceeds all expectations. You can learn more about their Pursue What’s Pure campaign here.

You can buy a diffuser on Amazon or at so many local stores now. My favorites are the Lumo and the new Volo diffuser, both from dōTERRA. Keep in mind, the diffuser isn’t the important part here. It’s the plant magic essential oils.
Happy oil blending this fall!

Sometimes the source of our overwhelm isn’t what’s on our to-do list—it’s what’s underneath it.

How to make natural bug spray - a topic of interest every summer!
How do you pick a plant for a bug spray when it varies depending on where you live and what bugs you’re dealing with? You will want to have a general idea of what bugs are in your area because different bugs are repelled by different plants.
Most bugs hate the smell of peppermint, which is an easy recommendation. It’s great too because it’s a versatile oil that you can use for so many other purposes as well to get more bang for your buck.

Spring has sprung - let’s spruce up some self care as we run head on into spring!
Spring is special this year because it dawned early with Easter taking place the last week of March instead of mid-April. The hope of this blog is to spruce up some spring feelings because we all need a change of seasons. Every season has its purpose and is beautiful in its own way. Coming out of winter, with Easter you may be reminded of the newness of life and the renewal that is available to us through a relationship with Jesus. In a less significant way, spring is also a time to enter a renewal for mind, body, and home.

BUT FIRST YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW YOUR OILS ARE SOURCED.
Disclaimer: I am only talking about doTERRA essential oils where I know the strain of the plant, the sourcing, testing and purity. DO NOT use my tips with other essential oil brands!
And the top 10 are:
Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint, Oregano, OnGuard, Frankincense, Digestzen, Tea Tree, Breathe, and Deep Blue
We’re all striving for balance (it’s actually one of my favorite essential oils) but.... is it possible?!!!!?????
Balance between natural solutions and modern medicine?
Balance between using an oil for everything and never using natural solutions?
Balance between living naturally and being over the top about everything being 'bad'!?
Balance in eating healthy and indulging?
Balance in working out and rest days?
Balance in living 'healthy' and YOLO?!
Every day is a new day.

Our world today is not without life’s stressors. While we may not be foraging to find our food or worried about a bear attack out in the wilderness, we still have scenarios that put us into fight, flight, or flee responses. Many people assume we are born with the skills needed to deal with life’s stressors, but we are not born with healthy emotional expression, boundary setting, or emotional intelligence tools.
