Stepping Into Postpartum with Grace
With Fertility and Hormone Coach, Daniella
As I prepare for early postpartum, I’m not trying to control every detail, even though this can be much easier said than done at times!
I’m stepping into this season with grace, knowing that recovery may look different from one day to the next. Some days may feel strong and steady. Others may feel slower and more tender. I’m allowing space for both
More than anything, I’m committed to listening to my body. Pregnancy deepened my intuition in ways I didn’t expect, and I have a feeling postpartum will ask me to lean into that intuition even more. Instead of rushing or comparing, I want to tune in. Rest when I need rest. Nourish when I need nourishment. Trust that my body knows HOW to heal, just like it knew exactly how to support my baby in the most healthy beautiful ways throughout all stages of my pregnancy.
I am planning on some gentle preparation over the next 1-2 weeks ahead. Just to give you an idea of what that looks like, simple breakfasts in the freezer like quiche, protein pancakes and banana bread. My husband is planning to make nourishing soups like lentil and chicken soup and we’ll likely use a local healthy meal prep service for additional support. You’ll notice less pressure to prepare 35 breakfast sandwiches and somehow figure out a way to make them all fit in my tiny freezer…. I think we are going to pass on this option
Instead, just warm, grounding meals that make eating simple, consistent and filled with vital nutrients that my body will ask for replenishment post-birth.
And just as intentionally, I’m releasing the pressure to “bounce back.” My body grew and carried life over the last nearly consecutive 10 months and this is no small feat! To this day, I am in awe of what our bodies are truly capable of when they are supported in the best ways and we actually respond to their “callings” of what they need to feel best. And the reality is, this looks different for everyone.
I know in my heart recovery will take time, and I’m honoring that. Every pregnancy and postpartum experience is different and since this is my first, I’m choosing openness over expectation.
This season isn’t about rushing.
It’s about healing, nourishing, and trusting the process. And if you too find yourself walking through this exact season whether your first or your fourth, I welcome you to trust yourself and do the same
Please let me know if you need anything else at this time!
Thank you so very much
