Can you strengthen your immune system?

Money Mindset-19.png

The narrative of the time has been for people to

WASH YOUR HANDS!

And although we have been surprised by how many people do not wash their hands on a regular basis, I believe we need other tools and strategies to understand and help support and strengthen our immune system.

Our bodies are incredibly intelligent.

They are very aware of what viruses are because our microbiome has an estimated 350 trillion viruses. And our cells create viruses in response to toxins.

Everywhere researches have looked in the human body, viruses have been found. There are viruses in the blood, skin, lungs, urine. When it comes to viruses in the human body figuring out where they don’t live is a far greater question than where they do. These viruses' role is to kill bacteria and they have already figured that out, its what they live for.

Harming our bacteria can be harmful to our health. That's why those antibacterial hand sanitizers are so terrible. They kill both the bad and the good bacteria which the body needs.

So how do we help our immune system thrive and stay strong to be able to fight the good fight when outside viruses attack?

Here are 5 ways to help you with just that.

  1. Physical activity

Exercising on a regular basis for at least 20 mins a day has been proven to improve immune function.

  2. Adequate sleep

7 to 8 hours of deep sleep will help support a strong immune system.

  3. Healthy eating

Choosing to eat whole foods such as fresh fruit and vegetables and foods that improve your gut health. Almonds, Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Olive oil, Greek yogurt are a great way to support good bacteria that live in the gut. This bacteria is crucial and beneficial to maintain a healthy immune system.

  4. Proper supplementation

We need to choose good supplementation that is bioavailable or that when it enters into the body has an active effect. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that helps the body rid of free radicals. It helps decrease inflammation and improves immune function. It helps improve skin and studies have found effectiveness against viruses and the common cold. This is a great way to begin supplementation although our bodies do need other supplements due to depletion from lifestyle, diet, seasonal threats, and toxins.

  5. Essential oils and Mindful Meditation

Essential oils work on a cellular level. When entering the body they penetrate the cell membrane. They find what is off and they begin to work with the body to help it. Like little soldiers that help wage war. Plant magic at its best! Only certified therapeutic grade EO’s can be used topically (on skin), aromatically (diffusing or smelling), Internally (ingested). Essential oils are also very beneficial to calm the mind. Therefore they are recommended during meditation. Mindful meditation it's a great way to reduce stress and anxiety which are key factors to keep a healthy immune system and a healthy body environment free of sickness and disease.

I hope this advice helps with some direction about how to support and strengthen the immune system. There are more than just these 5 steps. But we all have to begin somewhere. Remember health is a journey, not a destination, do your research, stay healthy, stay well!
