Cavan's "HELLth" journey with Lyme disease

You would never think the woman here is struggling, would you?

You would think this woman has it all together.

She is battling a silent disease.

She is weak, has vertigo often, shortness of breath, and seizure like spells. She rarely went out, could no longer drive, and had to make herself get off the couch. She couldn’t believe that she looked fine while feeling so awful.

Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with Lyme disease or another auto-immune disease?

Cavan is a contributor to thewellteam.com and is a wealth of knowledge as she has been there FIRST HAND. Her battle with Lyme disease has not been easy but she has learned so much through her journey.

Here is a snapshot of her HELLTH highway...

“I was born the youngest of 3 and the only girl.  Not the typical princess though, as hard as my mom tried, being raised in a family with older brothers and a father, with a “tough it out” approach to life, does not grow a princess.  It does grow a girl with tenacity, determination and some toughness sprinkled with some sweet sugar.

It started at the age of 7 when I was hospitalized with a dangerous 104 fever and rash, diagnosed as a "tick born illness', unspecific diagnosis back in the early 80's but most likely Spotted Rocky Mountain or Q Fever.  At the age of 10 I suffered a serious concussion, my front teeth were barely hanging on after a tragic bike flip accident on a 10 speed, which kept me hospitalized for several days. I suffered the typical teenage bout with Mono and missed 2 weeks of school.  Then, in my late 20's, I started to have neurological symptoms of lights in my peripheral vision, vertigo, headaches.  Upon doctors’ visits I was "ok", prescribed migraine meds and Claritin.

After my first child was born, I had the same neuro symptoms and intestinal issues but I was able to overcome the acuteness of them rather quickly after his birth, but I never felt "normal' for me.

“I was able, though, to live life fairly normally with manageable symptoms.”

A couple years later we found ticks in our home from our Black Lab and was unaware of the threat of Lyme because I believed that Florida ticks don't have Lyme. Naïve and ignorance were the words of the day.  We treated the ticks and moved on but I became very ill. I was also pregnant with my second by then so blamed it on that.  After giving birth to my daughter my symptoms became debilitating. I was home bound saving any energy I had for my kids and researching day and night to figure out what I was dealing with.  After a long and tumultuous couple of years of blood tests and a list of specialists, it turned out it was Chronic Lyme Disease and all the bacteria and viral infections that hop on board with Lyme.

It is typical for Lyme, and many other bacterial and viral infections, to lay dormant until the body has a weakened immune system and then it runs rampant.  This makes for an overly toxic body where candida, parasites, and more and more bacterial and viral infections thrive in your cells affecting organs and whole- body systems.

I have found and use successful therapies that help deal with a toxic body and all the symptoms that grants.  Symptoms like migraines, joint pains, digestive issues, hormonal issues, cognitive issues, emotional issues, neuropathy, allergies, exhaustion, vertigo, light headedness, etc.  It is my opinion, and that of many others, that most people have Lyme bacteria in their system but their immune system keeps it at bay, just like with the Varicella virus we all carry if you have ever had chickenpox.  Unfortunately, many of us have weakened immune systems due to all the toxins in and around our body's, either self-induced or environmentally.

I feel it is my calling to help others in their journey to work through their challenges to live their healthiest life.  I see myself as a patient educator, I am so well versed in alternative/holistic therapies and nutritional avenues to health.  I know all the question you have when you leave your doctor and you can’t just go back and spend another fortune to ask those questions to then only have another list of questions. I can help you navigate through your healing journey; I have the knowledge to share and coach you back to health alongside your doctors’ protocol.  I can also help connect you with the right medical help.

When I texted my main doctor (a top doctor in the NE U.S.) whom I credit for bringing me back to health that I wanted to be a patient educator for alternative healing, he texted me back "I think that is a great idea. You are bright and very knowledgeable from your health challenges.  Your empathy will shine through to those you help. Go for it!"

So I am, please let me know if I can help you or someone you love.  Feel free to comment below or message me for pricing per session, or any other information, and I will reply shortly.  I coach you on your diet, your mindset, detoxing, using essential oils, yoga Nidra/ Meditation and much more!

I hold my BA in psychology/sociology with a concentration in Health Sciences. I am currently working on Natural Health Consultant Certification.

I have lived and live it daily!”

Be Well!
